The depot was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The structure was razed in the summer of 1994 after a devastating fire in damaged the building in the spring of 1993.[2]

Amtrak passengers are now served at the Yuma Amtrak station which consists of two open platforms and a tunnel.

In 2009, the structure remains listed on the National Register of Historic Places-NRHP.[1]
